Lauren Ferris Bio

My name is Lauren Ferris and I will be a CTD watchstander on S04P 2018. I am a graduate student with the Coastal and Polar Physical Oceanography Lab at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Before this, I worked as an engineer on a few projects such as ROV/AUV-based oil spill response. I did my undergrad at MIT and studied Mechanical and Ocean Engineering. I grew up in a small town near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  I am interested in the Southern Ocean, gliders, programming, and strong coffee. I also enjoy ice hockey and night diving.
