Chanelle Cadot Bio

Hello, my name is Chanelle Cadot, and I am a senior studying Oceanography at the University of Washington.  I will be a CTD watch stander and the student lead for the SOCCOM float deployments.
I am interested in the intersection of engineering with oceanography specifically with the use of autonomous sensor platforms to gather data in situ throughout the world’s oceans.  I work as an undergraduate lab assistant at the UW Argo Float Lab, where we build and test standard Argo floats as well as SOCCOM floats. Standard Argo floats only have a CTD to gather salinity, temperature, and depth data while SOCCOM floats have additional sensors to gather pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, and chlorophyll data.  It will be interesting to see the instruments that I see everyday in the lab get deployed out in the Southern Ocean!
I’m originally from Dallas, Texas, but now that I live in Seattle, I like to take advantage of the incredible natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest by backpacking, biking, and scuba diving.
